Whedon Calls Death Knell For Firefly
December 21, 2005 at 12:19 pm | In Movies, TV |Whedon Calls Death Knell For Firefly:
Ant writes “Entertainment Weekly is reporting on the end of Firefly.” From the article: “Alas, Whedon’s fond memories are also tainted by Serenity’s status as a franchise nonstarter; despite Universal’s best marketing efforts, the film only mustered $25 million. ‘In the end, it was what it was: a tough sell,’ says Whedon, adding that it appears the Firefly saga has reached its conclusion. He has no regrets — and he’s moving on.”
A sad day. Firefly was not given a chance by the networks or Serenity by the movie production company. I think DVD sales will be very good though and know I will be buying it for my collection as soon as I can.

And if you read his comment on whedonesque you’ll find out Joss called bullshit on this one. His comments were taken out of context. (Excuse my language. It is directed at EW.)

I really hope EW is WRONG! I will be picking up the DVD Real Soon Now Also! Reporters taking comments out of context, this is really getting old, I hope blogging really takes off and gets rid of some of this junk reporting.

I picked up the DVD last night @BestBuy and noticed that there were not many copies available. Hopefully, that means they are selling well.
